The Nexus Media Time Lapse System captures images that can be accessed over the 3G network. These images are used to create time lapse movies that can show something developing over a period of days, weeks, months or years to complete in just seconds.

 

The Time Lapse Camera Unit integrates with a high resolution DSLR to capture high-quality photographs. It then uploads those images directly to our servers to integrate with web pages, desktops and smart phones, as well as custom applications.  Our professional cameras are capable of capturing images up to 24 megapixels (for extreme detail and definition) along with a wide range of professional-grade lenses. The specs of each system can be changed according to the requirements of each project.

 

The standard interval is one photo every 5 to 15 minutes of each working day. These settings can be changed remotely by us via the 3G connection. The interval can be increased or decreased to suit the construction activity on a particular day or period.

 

Installation and location of the cameras is done with reference to the site plan.  We will analyse and discuss the best options for your project depending on your needs and requirements from the footage.  We take into consideration the best angles, position of the sun, construction activity, and where it can be achieved from the best vantage point.  We can also do an on-site inspection to discuss further options.

 

The camera housings are IP65 rated, and sealed for extreme weather and dust environments. Additional lightning arresters help to protect the system from lightning strikes. The housings use a specially coated glass that allows water to bead off without leaving marks. 

 

The cameras can either be mains or powered by a solar panel and only require period checking. With a regular schedule of checks, our cameras should be good to capture images for years.

 

Via the secure client website, clients have access to the recorded images where you can select, view and download any images we have captured of your entire project.  The website allows you to monitor your project at anytime, from anywhere and on any device.  Frames from two different times and days can be over layed quickly and easily to compare differences and progress from one to the other.

 

Upon request, we can create movies from any sequence of images that we have captured since the beginning of your project. You can request this service at any time throughout your project’s development.

 

In addition to large-scale time lapse sequences from above, we also offer to shoot full HD video and other time lapse sequences from ground level at any time.  With 20 years experience in the film and television industry, we have the skillset to be able to capture and enhance your project, whether it be a full blown documentary or regular updates for your social media channels.
